Using Makeup to cover up Acne scars
These makeup are manufactured by different companies and therefore a dermatologist & cosmetologist should be consulted for great recommendations.
Some makeup for acne scars are sold online but it's better to find a makeup consultant who can come to one's home to try different products that will achieve the best result before putting money down on it.
Tips to follow in applying makeup to cover acne scars:
a. A bristle makeup brush should be used to apply & blend makeup, never use sponges because they tend to leave harsh marks on the skin.
b. Transparent powder that does not contain oil should be used to set foundation powder.
c. Avoid using too much makeup to cover acne scars.
d. When applying the makeup, avoid left to right strokes and opt for the dotting motion.
Finding the right makeup for covering acne scars will produce a youthful healthy looking skin.

Removing Facial Makeup before going to bed.
It is very essential to have makeup removed before going to bed at night.Sleeping with eye makeup can cause infection, redness or irritation when they get into the eyes.
Taking off your makeup before bed gives the skin time to regenerate while sleeping.A makeup remover is specially formulated for removing makeup . It is also important to use two different makeup removers; one for the eyes and one for the rest of the face.
The eye area is very delicate and sensitive and so an eye makeup remover is better for removing eye makeup as they are usually mild. Cotton balls are great for taking off makeup with the makeup remover (these are available locally at most stores). To remove eye makeup, gently tap cotton ball or facial cloth around the eye until the cloth is clean.
To remove facial makeup, lightly soak a cotton bud in the makeup remover and start cleansing in circular motions towards the hairline. Then repeat the process until the cotton ball starts coming up clean, then rinse face with cold water and moisturize.
Soap should not be used to remove makeup unless it is designed for the purpose.
It is a very good idea to avoid oily makeup removers on oily skin as this can lead to breakouts, a makeup up remover with alcohol as one of the ingredients is usually okay for oily skin because alcohol usually leaves the skin dry but the best removers are water based and can be used by all skin types.Lola Longe

Black eyeliner
Black eyeliner is often most commonly used day to day to line the eyes. There are liquid liners, pencil liners & black matte eyeshadow.
Black liquid eyeliners are easy to apply but needs to be carefully done as it smears over the eye easily due to it's liquid nature once it's not lined close to the eyelashes.
Black Pencil eyeliners are easy to applyand work best when they are well sharpened. A quick tip is to dab a little body oil at the tip of the pencil if it's too dry and not linning the eyes properly.
Black matte eyeshadow is best applied by an angle brush. The brush must be tapped off to remove excess shadow before applying to the eye.

Overcoming a Shiny face- Blotting Powder
Applying foundation or powder to the face does not help to cover up the shine, as a matter of fact it only makes the face to sweat more as the pores of the face are clogged up reducing the air that circulates.
We notice that our powder/foundation disappears from the face after a while and we often think there's need to re-apply when all we see is just our shiny faces. The truth of the matter is that the powder is still very much on the face but less visible to the eyes when it has been covered by sweat. This can be proved by dabbing a white piece of tissue/facial cloth on the face - what we see is brown stains which is the powder!
The solution to keeping our powder in place and taking off the shines to reveal a flawless look is to us a blotting powder to finish up .
Blotting powder is good for taking off shine from the face and touching up at intervals especially for brides who may constantly be conscious of their looks all though the day.
Blotting powders have been created with vast of different skin tones in mind and are available at the major cosmetic boots in the store.

Bridal Eyeshadows
It's the dream of every bride to look beautiful & natural in the Ivory/cream gown & therefore eyeshadow colors should be carefully chosen among the neutral shades.
Following are tips to consider when choosing/,applying bridal eyeshadows:
1. For makeup application, three terms are used: Highlight - the lightest color shade. Midtone - the next darkest shade. Accent - the darkest color.
2. Highlight: This is the space directly underneath the eyebrow, it's the eyebrow bone ( a well shapened eyebrow will reveal this easily). Apply the lightest color among the neutral shades.
3. Midtone : This is the crease, space between the eyebrow and the accent. Line the crease with the midtone shade that is slighty daker than the highlighter, examples are light bronze & copper colors.
4. Accent: This is the area directly above the eyelashes. Tha Accent shade to be used here should be the darkest of the three eyeshadow colors. Examples are dark bronze, copper & gold.
5. To add more sparkle to the eyes, black eyeshadow can be used in place of black eye pencil to line the upper & lower lashes. The ideal brush for this eyeshadow is the "angle brush" which is thin & follows through the shape of the eye with ease.

Applying Makeup Foundation
2. Bright light is best for choosing the right foundation shade, dull or yellow light can be very deceptive.
3. Moisturise the face very well.
4. Prime the face (MAC primer is an ideal one to use), this keeps foundation in place all day.
5. Foundation is best applied with a brush than a sponge. A sponge will absorb a lot of foundation & will distribute a little to the face and doesn't blend evenly.
6. Ensure foundation blends close to the ears and underneath the jaw line to the neck to avoid having a two-tonned face.
7. Blotting powder is all that is needed to reduce the shine, never try to reduce shine with damp cloths or tissue paper.
