Removing Facial Makeup before going to bed.

It is very essential to have makeup removed before going to bed at night.

Sleeping with eye makeup can cause infection, redness or irritation when they get into the eyes.
Taking off your makeup before bed gives the skin time to regenerate while sleeping.

A makeup remover is specially formulated for removing makeup . It is also important to use two different makeup removers; one for the eyes and one for the rest of the face.

The eye area is very delicate and sensitive and so an eye makeup remover is better for removing eye makeup as they are usually mild. Cotton balls are great for taking off makeup with the makeup remover (these are available locally at most stores). To remove eye makeup, gently tap cotton ball or facial cloth around the eye until the cloth is clean.

To remove facial makeup, lightly soak a cotton bud in the makeup remover and start cleansing in circular motions towards the hairline. Then repeat the process until the cotton ball starts coming up clean, then rinse face with cold water and moisturize.

Soap should not be used to remove makeup unless it is designed for the purpose.
It is a very good idea to avoid oily makeup removers on oily skin as this can lead to breakouts, a makeup up remover with alcohol as one of the ingredients is usually okay for oily skin because alcohol usually leaves the skin dry but the best removers are water based and can be used by all skin types.
